A promising top-10 qualifying result turned into a setback for Isack Hadjar, who has been disqualified from the Miami Grand Prix qualifying due to a technical infringement on his Red Bull Racing car, forcing him to start Sunday’s race from the back of the grid.

Hadjar had initially secured an impressive ninth-place finish and showed strong pace, qualifying just seven spots behind his four-time world champion teammate Max Verstappen.

Red Bull appeared to benefit from a significant upgrade package introduced over the weekend, but the gains were undone after post-session checks.

Stewards found a breach in the car’s floor assembly, where sections on both sides extended 2mm beyond the allowed reference volume, a marginal but illegal deviation under Formula 1’s strict technical regulations.

As a result, Hadjar was excluded from the qualifying results, though he has been allowed to start the race from the back after his practice performances were deemed satisfactory.

Red Bull accepted the ruling without protest, with team principal Laurent Mekies admitting the error and stating no performance advantage was intended or gained.

The race at Hard Rock Stadium will now take place earlier than scheduled due to forecast heavy rain, adding further uncertainty, while Kimi Antonelli lines up on pole for the Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula One Team.
